About ChannelZap

ChannelZap is a free weekly newsletter and website that works like a TV guide for YouTube. It's made for three kinds of readers worldwide: viewers and parents looking for great channels, new creators starting their first channel, and established creators growing internationally.

What we cover

A weekly Big Premiere channel, a six-tile Channel Surfing Grid across 15 rotating niches, an Under-10K spotlight, a Parent-Approved pick for families, and a Creator Desk with guides, case studies, gear and AI stacks, brand-deal radar, the Collab Board and the Behind-the-Channel vendor directory.

How channels are picked

We find channels through search, reader tips and creator nominations, then check each one on its public YouTube page: country, language, recent uploads and subscriber count (shown as a band, with the date we checked). The grid always includes channels from at least three continents and at least two non-English channels. Kids' channels go through our written Kid-Safe checklist.

How an issue is made

Our software gathers creator-economy news from public RSS feeds in several languages. Editors draft the English issue, AI tools help translate it into our other editions (Español · 日本語 · 中文(繁體) · हिंदी · 한국어) using a glossary, and a person approves every issue before it's sent. Every fact links to a source. No source, no claim.

Independence

Spotlights, the Under-10K pick and the Parent-Approved Seal are never for sale. Sponsored items are always labeled. Some links may be affiliate links, and we disclose them next to the link.

Not affiliated

ChannelZap is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google. 'For YouTube' only describes what we write about.
